A method for immobilization of biochemical substances particularly enzymes, which includes the following steps: - An olefin-unsaturated, epoxyfunctional polyether is applied to a carrier material in the form of a layer - the polyether is cross-linked to form a large-mesh epoxyfunctional polymer matrix by means of high-energy radiation or using pernxide, - the layer is treated with an aqueous solution of the biochemical substance, whereby the biochemical substance is immobilized in the polymer matrix by reaction with epoxy groups, - the layer is stabilized by reaction of non-converted epoxy groups with a compound containing amino and/or carboxyl groups.

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 19, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 19, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 19, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
