The present invention relates to a process interface system (1) in which single-channel modules (D, A) designed on the basis of compact IC technique are housed in terminal block-like blocks of the same type as standard terminal blocks (6a-6d) for mounting rails (4). The single-channel modules (D A) are designed in few, different versions which are programmed during installation for their field of use as AI or AO interface unit and as DI or DO interface unit, respectively, as well as for their voltage range. Each interface unit communicates directly with the system computer (PC) via a serial bus (2) in the form of electrically conducting paths (5a, 5b, 5c) applied to the mounting rail (4) on …

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 20, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 20, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 20, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
