Abstract From the Canadian patent
A dual-feed single-cam compound bow, construction which eliminates one of the let-off cams from a conventional compound bow by providing a dual-feed single cam with an opposed concentric pulley whereby the increment of feed-out caused by the drawing of the bow is balanced against the increment of take-up so that the same amount of cable is fed to both ends of the bowstring during the drawing operation. This is accomplished by designing the respective radii of the cam and pulley grooves to balance the rate of feed-out of both feed-out sections of cable from the let-off cam.

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 18, 1993 and granted February 16, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 18, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 18, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
