Abstract From the Canadian patent

A process for removing an oxidizable organic compound from an oxidizing gas stream is disclosed; this process comprises contacting the gas stream with a bed of carbonaceous adsorbent particles the adsorbent particles comprising, porous pyrolyzed particles of a polysulfonated cross-linked synthetic copolymer,to adsorb the oxidizable organic compound on the adsorbent particles. The pyrolyzed copolymeric adsorbent particles in combination with adsorbed oxidizable organic compound exhibit reduced oxidative activity in the presence of an oxidizer compared to activated carbon particles under the same conditions. The adsorbent bed remains free of localized areas of combination due to the low …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed February 9, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 9, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 9, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
