Abstract From the Canadian patent

In catalysts for use in hot exhaust gases with a surface-roughened metal bearing structure and a catalytically active coating applied thereto, there is the problem that the catalytically active coating can fall off the metal bearing structure. It is therefore the aim of the invention to improve the adhesion of the catalytically active substance to the bearing structure. To this end according, to the invention, the metal bearing structure is roughened by spark erosion. Then the catalytically active coating can be keyed to the metal bearing structure roughened by spark erosion with the aid of a cross linking agent. The invention is applicable to catalytically coated plate catalyst systems.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 31, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 31, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 31, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
