Abstract From the Canadian patent

D.C. CHOPPER REGULATING METHOD AND APPARATUS INCORPORATING BILATERAL REGULATING VOLTAGE PATH, ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An unregulated D.C. input voltage (VIN) is processed by a high power chopper (34,36) to produce a first chopped signal having the same voltage as the input (VIN) and by a, low power chopper (56,58) to produce a second chopped signal in synchronism with and having a lower voltage than the first chopped signal. The first and second chopped signals are algebraically combined by transformers (52,54) to produce an A.C. output signal which may be converted to D.C. (VOUT). The second chopped signal may be controlled to have the same polarity relative to the first chopped signal …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 19, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended January 19, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 19, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
