In a six high rolling mill comprising each pair of upper and lower work rolls, intermediate rolls and backup rolls, at least the intermediate rolls among the work and intermediate rolls being adapted for shifting in axial directions thereof each of, the intermediate rolls has a barrel length longer than that of the backup roll such that barrel ends of the intermediate roll extend beyond barrel ends of the backup roll at maximum and minimum shifted positions of the intermediate roll, thereby providing a six high rolling mill having a high mill rigidity.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 18, 1992 and granted December 26, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 18, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 18, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
