Abstract, Described herein is a process for producing an alumina-fiber-reinforced ceramic material which has a high fiber content, high strength, excellent heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and thermal shock resistance, and features a high alumina purity. A filament yarn of long continuous .alpha.-alumina fibers having a high alumina content is impregnated with a slurry, which contains a water-soluble aluminum compound, an acid such as acetic acid or lactic acid and a water-soluble organic binder component all dis-, solved in the slurry, and aluminum powder of a primary particle size not greater than 1 µm dispersed in the slurry. The slurry impregnated filament yarn is wound around a …

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 8, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 8, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 8, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
