A process for the preparation of large-particle aqueous plastic dispersions by emulsion polymerization of freeradical polymerizable monomers is disclosed. The process is carried out in a system which controls the particle size and comprises an anionic emulsifier, an essentially non-branched nonionic, water-soluble polymer auxiliary which is added before, the polymerization and alkali metal and/or ammonium ions not bonded to emulsifier. The polymer auxiliary is an essentially nonbranched polyethylene oxide having a AB block structure where, A is a hydrophobic radical comprising 15 to 70 C atoms and B is a non-branched hydrophilic radical comprising at least 50 ethylene oxide units. The …

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 18, 1992 and granted June 4, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 18, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 18, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
