Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a method for making bags preferably provided with side folds, or other flat workpieces, which have a slip extending beyond the open edge. In accordance with the invention partly finished, bags are laterally supplied to a conveyor belt driven in a regulated manner, and are held there by grippers. By means of a glue applicator a glue strip is applied to the bag near its bottom edge during the regulated feeding movement of the conveyor belt. Finally, in a slip application station a slip is supplied laterally to the conveyor belt and is placed onto the glue surface. The invention furthermore provides an apparatus for carrying out the aforementioned method.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 16, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 16, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 16, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
