Synthetic gases are prepared from methane and oxygen in the presence of a catalyst containing ruthenium and/or rhodium as an active ingredient and as needed, cobalt and/or manganese as a promoter deposited on, zirconia and/or stabilized zirconia. The process for the preparation of the synthetic gases can provide carbon monoxide and hydrogen at higher rates of selectivity and produce a lesser amount of by-products at lower costs, and with high efficiency. The process little causes pollution.

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 14, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 14, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 14, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
