At least two thermoplastic polymers in a divided state are stirred to produce a homogeneous thermoplastic material. The polymers are inserted into the enclosure (2) and stirred by the blades of the rotor (6) whereafter the resulting homogeneous material is discharged through the outlet (5). A sharp increase in the power consumption of the engine (7) indicates that the material has become homogeneous.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 8, 1992 and granted November 7, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 8, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 8, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
