The invention relates to chromium and nickel oxide-based mass catalysts characterized in that the Ni/Cr ratio is between 0.05 and 5 and that they are obtained by a process consisting essentially in: a) forming a sol of chromium III and nickel II hydroxides b) gelling this sol, and c) drying and calcining the product at a temperature of between 250 and 450 degrees C. The invention also relates to a process for fluorination of halogenated saturated or olefinic hydrocarbons by HF in gaseous phase characterized in that a catalyst is used as defined above.

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 8, 1992 and granted June 23, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 8, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 8, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
