The powder inhaler has a rotatable and/or displaceable active substance magazine which is moved with the aid of a control curve mechanism by rotation and/or displacement in such a manner that a chamber prefilled with active substance mixture is always located in front of the air inlet opening. The respiratory air stream of the patient is guided through the apparatus in such a manner that the air stream empties the chamber with the active substance mixture. The active substance mixture is divided up into respirable particles in a cyclone chamber or against an impact plate and then coated with a jacket stream of pure air and inspired.

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 8, 1992 and granted October 3, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 8, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 8, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
