Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention is that of an azo pigment composition containing about 1 to 10 percent by weight of a nonionic alkyl polyglycoside dispersing agent. The polyglycosides useful in the invention have the general formulae: CnH2n+1 M (C6H10O5)x H, wherein: M is an oxygen sulfur, nitrogen phosphorous or, silicon atom; n is an integer from 8 to 18 preferably 8 to, 11 and X represents the number average degree of polymerization having a numerical value from about 1 to about 2. These azo pigment compositions are prepared by conducting the azo pigment coupling reaction in the presence of said alkyl polyglycoside. The resulting pigment exhibit superior application properties in water based ink systems.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 26, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 26, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 26, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
