A method of providing roofing cover consists of cutting vehicle tires into pieces having a tread portion and short opposed sidewall portions. The pieces are laid tread down in overlapping relationship with respect to the direction of drainage of water to form a base layer of roofing cover. A capping layer of roofing cover is formed by laying other tire pieces over the base layer such that the tread portions of the capping layer pieces face upward and the sidewall portions of the capping layer pieces engage the tread portions of the pieces forming the base cover.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 25, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 25, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 25, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
