Abstract From the Canadian patent

A heated liquid sampling probe (10) for an automated sampling apparatus includes a sampling tube (22) for drawing up a volume of liquid from a reservoir (50). The tube is connectable to an automated sampling apparatus including a chassis (20). A capacitance (Cp) exists between the sampling tube and the chassis. An electrical heater (12) is arranged for heating the tube and a volume of liquid contained therein. The electrical heater increases the capacitance between the tube and the chassis by an amount (CH). A capacitance lowering mechanism (60) is provided for lowering the increase in capacitance due to the heater.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 26, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 26, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 26, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
