A well tubing includes an insert nipple for receiving a hold-down projection of an insert pump. The tubing includes a tubing collar threadingly interconnecting the upper end of the insert nipple with the next upper tubing section. The tubing collar includes a tapered inner bore which becomes progressively larger in cross-section in the upward direction to provide, around the outside of the holddown projection, a space of gradually enlarge volume for receiving debris as the insert pump is lifted from the well tubing, thereby preventing the pump from becoming stuck.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 18, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 18, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 18, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
