A novel, wide inkjet printhead and method of forming said inkjet printhead is disclosed, wherein a pattern of orifices are formed, using a step-and-repeat process in a, flexible tape using laser ablation or other suitable etching means. The location of the orifices corresponds to where ink will be ejected from the inkjet printhead. The pattern of orifices may extend to any length without difficulty in aligning the orifices, since the tape may be continuous along the entire length of the printhead.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 13, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 13, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 13, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
