Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method and apparatus are disclosed for the detection of chemical changes and failure potential in structural composites employing ion mobility spectra and further gaseous analyzers. A sample is heated using radiative energy to a temperature sufficient to effect volatilization of the volatilizable materials in the sample without degrading the structural integrity of the sample with the heat. The volatilizable materials are collected and analyzed the data, permitting diagnosis of the sample to facilitate detection of change and/or failure potential.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 10, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 10, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 10, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
