Abstract From the Canadian patent

A lens system comprises two magnifiers and distance measuring means. With the distance measuring means the distance is measured of an object to be viewed. The focal distance of the magnifiers is automatically adapted to the measured object distance while the convergence distance of the magnifiers is likewise automatically adapted to the measured object distance. This enables the user to automatically have a stereoscopically sharp view over a wide range of object distances, a magnification being obtained depending on the magnifiers employed.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 3, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 3, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 3, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
