Abstract From the Canadian patent

Gas generating compositions or propellants are provided which comprise a non-azide fuel which is a transition metal complex of an aminoarazole. Preferred transition metal complexes are zinc and copper complexes of 5-aminotetrazole and 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole with the, zinc complexes most preferred. Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 6, 1992 and granted November 30, 1993. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 6, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 6, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
