Abstract From the Canadian patent

There is disclosed a method for selectively recovering metal ions and metal complexes from aqueous feed streams, containing high solid loadings. The invention requires the use of a metal chelating agent contained within an organic phase to be combined with the feed stream in such a manner as to permit the formation of the desired metal complexes within the organic phase. Recovery of the organic phase from the feed stream is achieved through the use of nonplugging and/or fouling disengagement devices. The system further provides for improved recovery economics of metals in feed streams requiring extensive neutralization by permitting, the use of lower cost neutralizing agents which will …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 1, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 1, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 1, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
