Abstract From the Canadian patent

22, Abstract, Damper apparatus for air ports of a chemical recovery furnace is mounted on a removable windbox faceplate. Damper blades extend from a cantilevered arm pivoted at the forward side of the faceplate, with the damper blades being otherwise unsupported, i.e. they are not confined to travel in tracks within the windbox. Rather, a counterweight urges the damper blades against the air port opening whereby the whole mechanism is free for removal as a unit with the faceplate. Cooperatively operable air port cleaning apparatus is also mounted on the faceplate.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 30, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 30, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 30, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
