Abstract From the Canadian patent

A device and method for sorting batteries of used batteries and accumulators on the basis of their chemical constitution. The measurement device is based on the analysis of the inductive effect produced by the substances which are contained in the battery or accumulator, and whose ferromagnetic properties differ according to their chemical constitution. The mesasurement method in which this device is used is based on the consecutive application to the excitation circuit of at least two different voltage amplitudes at the same frequency or two different frequencies at the same voltage amplitude.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 27, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 27, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 27, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
