The present invention provides a modified chimeric monoclonal antibody comprising wo molecules of each of two different polypeptides. The shorter polypeptides function as the light chains of the antibody and the longer polypeptides function as the heavy chains of the antibody. Moreover; the polypeptide which functions as a heavy chain has a variable region characteristic of a first mammal and a constant region characteristic of a second mammal. Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 20, 1991 and granted February 11, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 20, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 20, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
