SEPARATION OF ACTIVE CATALYST PARTICLES FROM SPENT CATALYST PARTICLES BY AIR ELUTRIATION (D#79,464-F), ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Spent hydrotreating catalyst having carbonaceous and metallic deposits and of regular geometric shape after being stripped of process oil is fluidized by flowing air upwardly through the catalyst at a velocity sufficient to expand the bed thereby segregating the catalyst particles into a high activity, upper, less-contaminated fraction and a lower more-contaminated fraction and recycling the high activity fraction to a hydrotreating process. Optionally the high, activity fraction can be regenerated with carbon burnoff or rejuvenated by acid leaching followed by …

Why it's free to use
- Filed September 17, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 17, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 17, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
