Abstract From the Canadian patent

A gravimetric metering apparatus for pourable material comprises a rotor rotating about vertical axis. The rotor has the form of a disk divided into four sectors. In a four phase measuring process the individual sectors are cyclically charged with pourable material, weighed and discharged. Preferably an, emptied sector is weighed as well and the determined tare weight is deducted from the brutto weight.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 3, 1992 and granted August 27, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 3, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 3, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
