Abstract From the Canadian patent

A DC termination circuit meeting the 2BlQ basic rate physical layer line code protocol for bilateral switch operation has a trigger circuit for switching the termination circuit from a high impedance to a low impedance circuit. The trigger circuit is connected in parallel with a switch that when activated effectively shorts the trigger circuit out of the DC termination circuit providing reduced power dissipation. Activation of the switch connects low impedance, low power dissipation load into the DC termination circuit. A hold-up current source is provided to maintain circuit operation during momentary losses of a test voltage. In a further embodiment of the DC termination circuit a, …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 24, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 24, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 24, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
