An assembly for communicating motive power to a velocipede by the action of wind, comprising a wheeled supporting frame connected to the velocipede and an airfoil mounted to the velocipede for giving rise to a driving force when the velocipede travels against a head wind. In one embodiment, the airfoil is normally static, however, it can be oriented by the rider of the velocipede relative to the direction of wind for generating maximum thrust. In a second embodiment a, plurality of airfoils form a turbine rotatably mounted on the supporting frame. The motive power generated by the rotary movement of the turbine in communicated to a driving wheel of the velocipede by a transmission system.

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 19, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 19, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 19, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
