Abstract From the Canadian patent

This installation taken as a whole is formed by two "abacuses" P1 and P2 disposed face to face the "beads", being modular tubular sections 21 or 31 mobile in a different direction for each "abacus". Each row and each column of the double "abacus" is connected to a fluid inlet or to a fluid outlet. A free connecting member (70) is inserted, for example by an automatic manipulator (81-84), after two adjacent gaps (60) have been opened in a row and a column of the double abacus. Seals are disposed between the various sections. (Figure 4).

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 12, 1992 and granted April 29, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 12, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 12, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
