Immunologically active peptides or polypeptides with a partial amino-acid sequence of the capsid proteins VP1 and VP2 of parvovirus B19 which permit tests to be carried out at low cost, sensitively and specifically for the determination of antibodies against human parvovirus B19 are made available. Short peptide sequences which employed as antigen, serve to identify anti-B19 IgGpositive sera are identified. Furthermore the production, of these peptides using genetic engineering measures is disclosed. Other antigens which are produced by genetic engineering and which can be stably produced in a high yield in E.coli and subsequently purified therefrom are used as additional antigens for IgG …

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 8, 1991 and granted February 18, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 8, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 8, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
