Addition of a CO combustion promoter to a circulating fluid bed (CFB) combustion unit and reduction of the air addition rate to 100-110 % of stoichiometric improves the efficiency of CO burning reduces emissions of CO and improves the efficiency of the unit. Stable, reduced temperature operation with air rates close to stoichiometric, reduces NOx emissions. A circulating (100-400 µm particles) or fast settling (400-1200 µm particle) CO combustion promoter may be used.

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 14, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 14, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 14, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
