Abstract From the Canadian patent

A conveyor is mounted on a watercraft where the belt is a mesh with apertures of selected size and has, upper and lower flights. There is an inboard extent of such flights above the water level and an outboard extent sloping downwardly so that an outer end of the belt is immersed. For oil recovery steam jets over the inboard extent clean the mesh. For algae, seaweed or the like dams on the conveyor deposit these at the inboard reversal of the conveyor.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 21, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 21, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 21, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
