Abstract From the Canadian patent

The disclosed substance has a composition of a general chemical formula of, Bi2-(Sr2Ca1)1=xt(La2Y1)x-Cu y-Oz where 0.4~x~1, y=2 and z=9-10.5, wherein said substance is an insulator or a semiconductor in the dark and has, a photoconductivity Q(.lambda.T) in conjugate with superconductivity of a superconductor of an adjacent component of the Bi-SrCa-LaY-Cu-O system at a critical temperature (T) of less than 105-115 K and less than 65-85 K at photoexcitation in an optical wavelength range (.lambda.) of 420-670 nm. The present invention relates to a method for producing the same and a superconductive optoelectronic device with the same. The present invention also relates to an element, a device …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 15, 1992 and granted April 6, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended July 15, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 15, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
