Mo3650, MD-91-8-PR, PREPOLYMERIC POLYOLS CONTAINING MESOGENIC UNITS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE, Prepolymer polyols containing mesogenic moieties useful as reactants for the preparation of resinous materials are disclosed. Synthesized by condensing a polyether polyol with bifunctional mesogenic diacids, or diesters the compounds, of the invention are characterized by their reasonably low melt temperature which renders them suitable as additive materials in polymeric molding compositions and as precursors for the preparation of resinous materials. The liquid crystalline properties of the prepolymers of the invention were found to depend on the type and molecular weight of the glycols and on …

Why it's free to use
- Filed July 15, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 15, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 15, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
