A watering gutter for use in a flood irrigation system is an elongate channel with spaced side walls and two container supporting surfaces running along the base. The container supporting surfaces are separated by a drainage trough. Two additional drainage troughs are located between the side walls and the container supporting surfaces. In use the gutters are arranged side by side, but spaced apart to provide adequate air movement around the plants. The troughs in the base of each gutter ensure uniform water distribution to plants and full drainage of the water away from the plant containers.

Why it's free to use
- Filed July 15, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 15, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 15, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
