Abstract From the Canadian patent

DECK BRACKET", ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A steel, unitary bracket is provided to form a bench in conjunction with wooden inserts and crosspieces. The bracket comprises a base, legs and an open-topped generally L-shaped, channel of U-shaped section. The channel forms the seat and back. The channel is adapted to snugly receive 2" x 2" wooden board inserts. However, the depth of the channel is less than the thickness of the inserts, so that the latter protrude. The inserts are thus available to enable wooden crosspiece boards to be nailed or screwed thereto to complete the bench.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 30, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 30, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 30, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
