Abstract From the Canadian patent

A cyclic pentaborate composition is provided which exhibits immuno-modulatory activity and anti-bacterial in animals including humans. This composition is prepared from a chemical reaction between boric acid and borax (sodium tetra-borate dodecahydrate) in the presence of cytosol fluid obtained from boric acid hypersensitized fungal or microorganism cultures. The cyclic pentaborate compositions of this invention have been useful in enhancing the antibody production in treated animals afflicted with AIDS pneumonia, osteomyelitis, systemic lupus erythematosus allergies, asthma, insecticidal intoxication pre-eclampsia and a variety of other, bacterial or viral infectious diseases.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 31, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 31, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 31, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
