Abstract From the Canadian patent

A catalyst component is disclosed for use in the homoor copolymerization of olefinic hydrocarbons. The catalyst component is comprised of a first compound of the formula Me1(OR1)pR2qX1 4-p-q, a second compound of the formula Me2(OR3)mR4nX2z-m-n and a third compound which is an organocyclic compound having two or more conjugated double bonds. A process is also disclosed for the production of hydrocarbon polymers in which the above catalyst component is combined with a modified organoaluminum compound to form a catalyst composition capable of providing controlled molecular weight, wide distribution thereof and other desirable qualities in the polymer product.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 26, 1992 and granted September 3, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 26, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 26, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
