Abstract From the Canadian patent

A radio receiver for receiving a radio signal includes a counter which determines an eventual intermediate frequency of an amplified signal based on a reference signal as a count datum. A frequency controller controls a reference frequency of the reference signal according to the count datum. A reference oscillator is controlled by the frequency controller to produce the reference signal. When receiving a radio signal by a double superheterodyne method, the radio receiver gives the eventual intermediate frequency to the amplified signal. In the amplified signal the frequency controller, suppresses an eventual frequency drift which results from frequency drifts of a first local oscillation …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 26, 1992 and granted January 26, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 26, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 26, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
