A mechanical seal arrangement comprises a mechanical seal in sealed coupled relationship with a disposable emission control cartridge housing a container for receiving liquid leakage from the mechanical seal and a filter to remove any toxicity from vapour emissions from the collected liquid before such emissions pass to atmosphere.
