Abstract From the Canadian patent

A device for tensioning a movable flexible panel particularly the, canopy of a shade, having one end connected to a reel and the other end connected to at least one flexible pulling tie. Each of the ties is linked to a tensioning element so that the flexible panel is continuously under stress in the direction in which it unwinds and thus, counters the, action of a winding device connected to the reel. The tensioning element is connected to the pulling tie via a translatably movable slide mounted in a slide channel, and includes a device for rotatably locking the slide consisting of ribs which define the slide channel.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 26, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 26, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 26, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
