Abstract From the Canadian patent

32-, A hematological specimen for classifying and counting leukocytes with a flow cytometer is prepared. A sample to be assayed is prepared by eliminating influences of erythrocytes from a hematological sample without changing leukocytes morphologically by adding a first aqueous solution of a low osmotic pressure comprising a buffer for adjusting the pH value within an acidic region and a second aqueous solution comprising an osmolarity compensating agent and a buffer for giving a pH value suitable for staining optionally further adding a salt, which dissociates into ions in aqueous solutions so as to control the electrical conductivity of the aqueous solution at a preferable level while …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 19, 1992 and granted March 14, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 19, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 19, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
