Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a process for reducing NO x emission in the thermal reaction (combustion) of nitrogencontaining fuels or in the reduction of waste gases or vapors containing nitrogen oxides by a multistage reaction in which, in a first stage, all the nitrogen oxides present or spontaneously formed are reduced in a substoichiometric fuel-to-oxygen ratio and, in a following second stage or in following further stages, are after-reacted until all the oxidizable reaction components have been completely reacted. To accelerate the reaction, the reactants are additionally activated in at least one of the reaction stages by activation regenerators which statically mix the reactants with …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 22, 1992 and granted July 9, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 22, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 22, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
