Abstract From the Canadian patent

Gaseous oxygen is passed upwardly in the annular space between a central electrode and a cylindrical electrode to which a high voltage, high frequency signal is applied. Perfluorodecalin is continually passed down the inner surface of the cylindrical electrode in the form of a film which serves both to cool the cylindrical electrode and as a dielectric. The electrodes and may be in the form of a grid and may be coated with a metal oxide to inhibit decomposition of the ozone generated. Similarly particles of metal oxide may be suspended in the liquid. A refrigeration unit is provided to cool liquid en route to the electrodes. Fig. 1

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 20, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 20, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 20, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
