Abstract From the Canadian patent

A shovel with a blade and handle combines with a wheeled apparatus allowing the forward edge of the blade to be maintained at a selectable height above the ground. An axle supports two wheels and struts extend between the, axle and a bracket secured to the shovel handle. The struts can be held in place to extend generally away from the handle to allow the wheels to act as a fulcrum for pivoting the handle to various angulations or the connection between the strutsand the bracket can be selected such that the struts fold toward the shovel blade forming an acute angle with respect to the handle for convenient storage.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 20, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 20, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 20, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
