BP File No. 3491-019, - 18 -, ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A radiant fiber burner for the combustion of gaseous fuel/oxidant mixtures which exhibits high resistance to flashback/pre-ignition regardless of fuel/oxidant proportions or volumetric flow rates. The burner is comprised of a random matrix of permeable refractory fibers forming a geometric body and incorporating an array of ports through the body of the matrix as primary fuel/oxidant mixture passages. Secondary permeation of the fuel/oxidant mixture through the fiber matrix creates partial subcutaneous combustion in operation.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 20, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 20, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 20, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
