The invention relates to a process for the production of copper alloys of very high strength and very good transformability with a content of from 2 to 10% Ni, from 2 to 12% Sn the balance Cu, and usual impurities. Strengths of up to 1500 N/mm are achieved by a solution treatment after the casting operation at from 650°C to 800°C for a period of time of from 24 hours to 3 hours and - after previous quenching and in the absence of cold working - ageing for a period of time of from 14 days to 15 minutes at a temperature in the range of from 260°C to 380°C.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 20, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 20, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 20, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
