A substantially transparent glazing article has an optically functional coating on a transparent substrate. The coating has an optically functional topcoat layer and an anti-iridescence layer between the topcoat and the substrate. The refractive index anti-iridescence layer is (i) higher than the refractive index of the substrate in a first high refractive index zone directly on the substrate surface, (ii) lower than that of the first high refractive index zone in a low refractive index zone directly on the first high refractive index zone and, (iii) higher than that of the low refractive index zone in a second high refractive index zone directly on the low refractive index zone. The …

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 12, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 12, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 12, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
